Just got back from a CHOC hospital tour. That hospital is so amazing. Everyone that works there and everything they do is for the children. It’s such a heart warming thing to watch.
We just got a quick tour of the hospital and an overview of how they work. My favorite part was walking through the NICU (of course). So many emotions just rushed over me when I was in there, it’s just so hard to explain. We didn’t get to stay in there long because it was past visiting hours, but just a walking through was just what I needed to get my confidence and reassurance back of wanting to be a NICU nurse.
CHOC is adding on to their hospital a whole other building with plenty more rooms and space. It’s already looking so beautiful and underway. It opens in 2013 and I am so excited. The tour manager said they will be hiring hundreds of new nurses and (hopefully) by then I will be an RN. Working at CHOC is definitely my goal for my nursing career. Working with sick children is such a hard and painful job, but so rewarding. these kids deserve such great care and I want to be the one providing that for them! Just another motivation to keep working hard!
